Manufacturing Agents give Manufacturing Missions
Slightly off point. As far as i can see, this hasn't been suggested before, but if it has or is something in game that I just haven't come across yet, very sorry
Basically your Manu agent gives you a BPC with 1 run for a unique item. You have to go off and research it, get the minerals and a factory slot, produce and return the uniquem item to your agent. (Unique so that you can't just buy it somewhere) Lvl 1 Manufacturing agents give you an oppotunity to get into manufacturing as a career path from start.

Again off topic, but I couldn't agree more. Let's have a use for some of these passenger type items (as aside from slaves and livestock, there is no NPC market to buy these, but pleanty of supply)

Another general point related to implications of branding / naming modules concepts
Get rid of "Show only available items tick box in market"
(I can have that unchecked and see a load of Talcon and Sleeper items which I presume are a part of the archeology stuff that's up and coming?)
But if you have branding or custom naming of modules for custom modules, there will be an exponential rise in the number of different items held in the eve databases. (This is in it's self a problem). If I have "show only available items" unchecked ever, my market is going to take a year to load up. Have it permanently checked - you can only ever see what is available

So what we're really all suggesting (fine details aside), is to do away with tech1 and tech2 and just have a sliding scale of technology both in terms of modules and ships?

It was more of an afterthought having read several ideas on branded & custom modules.
You can still see items in the market with no buy and sell orders by searching for them or by clicking show market details on an item. You just can't browse for them. I'll make a separate thread for this.
But the point is I'm on 64kbps connection and even at the moment, when I jump from one region to another with market open and set to "region" in the browse tab, it already takes an age to load. Millions of new custom modules aren't going to help.

Use minerals in conjunction with something similar to simple reactions to make raw materials. Complex reactions to make advanced materials. Different combinations and amounts of advanced materials (for any item, not just ships) give different attributes.

More importantly, loot reprocesses into advanced materials, rather like scrapping it for spare parts, (rather than the current system of reproc into minerals.)
